Harbor View Apartment

A harbour-facing apartment that had been arranged as though the water were not there. Every seat looked inward, at a television mounted on the one wall with a view behind it.

The brief

The client asked us to select furniture. We asked for two weeks to look at the plan first.

What changed

Moving a single partition wall by one metre turned a blocked corridor into an entry, and turned the living room to face east. The furniture budget went largely unspent — the pieces they already owned worked once they were pointed in the right direction.
